The Tata Tigor EV gets a price cut of Rs. 80,000/- due to reduction of GST rates.
Tata Motors has announced its decision to slash prices of the Tigor electric vehicle by up to Rs. 80,000/- in accordance with the government’s statement to cut down GST on electric vehicles to 5%. Previously, the rate rested at 12%. The price reduction envelops all variants of the Tata Tigor EV – XE, XM and XT.
Thanks to the relief, the Tata Tigor EV is now available at a starting price of Rs. 11.58 lakhs instead of Rs. 12.35 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom Mumbai). However, the new prices are not conclusive of the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacture of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles) subsidy and TCS.
Furthermore, Tata Motors has recently notified its plan to offer 4 new electric vehicles in India soon. The company’s new zero-emission portfolio will include an electric alternative of the Nexon compact SUV, the Altroz EV hatchback, a revised Tigor and a yet to be announced model.
