The Honda Activa gets the highest selling scooter crown, however it sold in less numbers than the previous financial year.
As the years are passing by, the 2-wheeler market is taking massive turns. Higher capacity motorcycles are in much demand and premium category bikes are having demands higher than ever, However, the small capacity 2-wheelers also post massive sales and FY19 has been a major game changer for most 2-wheeler manufacturers. Here are the FY19 top selling 2-wheelers in India.
The Honda Activa comes to the first rank in numbers when it comes to sales. However, the company has posted a negative growth of -4.61 percent from FY18. Nevertheless, the Activa is the highest selling scooter and clearly accumulating huge numbers for Honda in India. The Hero Splendor and the Hero HF Deluxe trail behind the Activa for the second and third position respectively. The motorcycles have also posted good growth and have sold more in numbers when compared to the previous financial year FY18. Honda has also sold almost equal units of the CB Shine in FY19 and the growth comes to only 0.30 percent.
Bajaj Auto is also witnessing massive sales for the CT 100, Pulsar 150 and Platina. The motorcycles have not only been sold in huge numbers but also show double-digit growth figures at 58.96 percent, 76.03 percent and 44.02 percent in FY19 respectively. In the motorcycle segment, the TVS Apache series have also positively grown to 16.41 percent from the previous financial year. The TVS Ntorq sold 2,13,309 units in FY19 and has a growth of 975.46 percent.
Coming to Royal Enfield, the Classic 350 is at the 13th spot and the sales of the motorcycle have fallen by 5.23 percent as the company has sold fewer units in FY19 when compared to FY18. The Hero Duet has also seen a decline in sales and Livo sales are down by -31.36 percent. The Suzuki Access scooter has also seen a positive growth selling 5,39,123 units in FY19 as compared to 4,08,334 units in FY18.
