The upcoming Mahindra Bolero spotted on test is expected to get an updated engine and safety features.
Mahindra is working on updating the Bolero. The vehicle has been spotted on test wearing minimal camouflage. The Mahindra Bolero BS6 spotted on test is expected to be fitted with a BS6 compliant engine as well as new safety features to clear the upcoming safety testing norms.
From the images, it can be made out that the new Bolero will look identical to the current model. The vehicle could also get a newly designed grille as suggested by the use of camouflage in the grill area of the vehicle. It gets the same single-pod headlights with integrated turn signals. The circular fog lamps are fitted on the bumpers.
The upcoming Mahindra Bolero gets grey plastic trims along the sides of the vehicle. The car gets a tailgate-mounted spare wheel which gets a dual-tone cover. The ZLX variant of the Bolero seen in the images gets body coloured ORVMs and rear passenger seat headrests.
The current generation of the Bolero is being sold with a 2.5-litre M2DiCR turbocharged engine which makes 62 BHP at 3200 RPM and 195 Nm of torque at 1400-2200 RPM. In the images, the Bolero is seen wearing a mHawk D70 badge. The mHawk D70 engine is powering the Bolero Power+ variant. It is a 3-cylinder, 1.5-litre diesel engine which puts out 70 BHP at 3600 RPM and 195 Nm of torque from 1400-2200 RPM. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
