Bajaj Auto posted a 45 percent growth in their premium motorcycle segment in the months of January and February. A top company official revealed the sale numbers and shared the company’s growth. Currently, the company is focusing on expanding its premium motorcycle segment.
Talking about the margins, the company official said that the final growth will be reflected in a couple of months. They are currently pushing the premium segment of motorcycles as opposed to the high-end commuter segment as a part of the plan. With this strategy in place, Bajaj Auto expects a positive impact on the overall margin. Moreover, the profits will be further aided with better foreign exchange rates and the company expects to see a growth in the overall margin.
Coming to the company’s premium motorcycles, Bajaj Auto has recently launched the 2019 edition of the Dominar 400 at a price of Rs. 1.73 lakhs. The 2019 Dominar 400 brings in several updates to the motorcycle. The conventional front forks have been replaced by a set of upside-down forks for better stability. The digital instrument display on the fuel tank has now been replaced by a new one which gives out more information. Along with it, there are new mirror mounts, bungee cord loops under the rear seat and a forged steel side-stand. The main highlight of the 2019 Dominar is the engine, which now gets a Dual Overhead Cam setup and a dual-port exhaust canister. The engine now makes 40 PS of power and 35 Nm of torque. Braking duties are taken care of by a 320 mm disc on the front and a 230 mm disc on the rear. Dual-channel ABS is now standard on the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400.
