The BMW 530i M-Sport has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 59.20 lakhs.
The BMW 530i M-Sport has been launched in India. The M-Sport package is a first for the BMW 5 series petrol variant. The 530i is produced locally at the BMW Group plant in Chennai, India. The 4-cylinder petrol engine adheres to the stringent BS6 norms as well.
The new BMW 530i M-Sport comes with a lot of features like the BMW Display Key for all-round car connectivity, BMW Gesture Control for using hand gestures for predefined functions and an integrated smartphone holder in the centre console which allows Inductive Wireless Charging. The 530i also gets Parking Assistant along with Surround View Cameras and Park Distance Control (PDC). The Remote Control Parking allows the driver to park the vehicle in a tight space using the BMW Display Key. The 530i M-Sport also gets a Comfort Access System which allows keyless entry and boot lid opening with just a wave of the foot under the rear bumper.
Coming to the M-Sport package, it features kidney grille slats and a lot of elements in Black High-Gloss. The M Aerodynamics package comprises of larger air intakes, side skirt trim and diffusor style rear apron in Metallic Dark Shadow. The tailpipes are finished in Chrome High-Gloss and the wheels are M Light alloys which add to the sportiness of the car. The 530i also gets the M logo on the sides.
Coming to the interior, the M-Sport package adds Leather Sport Seats and interior trim Aluminium Rhombicle with highlight trim finishers in Pearl Chrome. Additionally, it also gets an M leather multifunction steering wheel, illuminated M door sills and M-Sport brakes with blue coloured callipers which bear the M logo. An ambient light setup with six dimmable lights adds to the inside ambience of the vehicle. The M strip design on the key of the vehicle is added as an exclusive feature. It also gets a wide range of BMW ConnectedDrive systems like Multifunction Instrument Display, BMW iDrive Touch with handwriting recognition, a 10.25-inch touchscreen BMW Navigation System, Harman Kardon 16-speakers with a 600 Watts Surround Sound system, BMW apps, Wireless Apple CarPlay along with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
Under the hood, the 2019 BMW 530i M-Sport gets a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine which dishes out 252 HP of power at 5200 RPM and 350 Nm of torque from 1450-4800 RPM. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters. It has a claimed 0-100 km/hr time of 6.2 seconds and gets Launch Control function as standard.
Talking about the safety and driver features, the BMW 530i M-Sport gets five driving modes – Comfort, Sport, Sport+, ECO PRO and Adaptive. The car is also packed to the gills with safety features including six airbags, ABS with Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DCS), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Side-Impact Protection, Runflat tyres (RFT) with reinforced sidewalls, electronic vehicle immobiliser, crash sensor and an integrated emergency spare wheel.
The BMW 530i M-Sport gets some aerodynamic bits too. These include side air blades on the tailgate, integrated air curtain in the front air inlets along with a 50:50 weight distribution, a low centre of gravity and lightweight construction. The car is available in Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Mediterranean Blue and Bluestone Metallic colours. The BMW 530i M-Sport price is Rs. 59.20 lakhs (ex-showroom). It replaces the 530i Sportline variant which was priced at Rs 53.80 lakhs. The 530i M-Sport is the second BMW in the M-Sport lineup after the 530d M-Sport in India which is priced at Rs. 66.20 lakhs (ex-showroom).
