All the variants of Mahindra’s upcoming XUV300 have been spotted giving us a hint of the equipment on offer.
Mahindra is all set to launch the XUV300 on 14th February 2019. The SsangYong Tivoli-based compact SUV will be available in four variants – W4, W6, W8 and W8 (O). These images give us an idea of some of the variant-specific features and colour options that will be offered with the compact SUV.
According to the images, the W4 and W6 variants are likely to be offered with steel wheels, with the W6 getting wheel caps. Both variants get chrome inserts on the grille and halogen headlamps. They miss out on features like projector headlamps with LED DRLs, fog lamps and ORVMs with integrated turn signals. Roof rails are offered on the W6 trim but not on the W4.
The W8 variant gets silver alloy wheels while the W8 (O) variant gets the dual-tone option for the alloy wheels. Both variants have a similar front design featuring a chrome grille and projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The dual-tone front bumper has a silver scuff plate and the air dam has four chrome strips. Both variants come with fog lamps and ORVMs with integrated turn signals. The W8 (O) version also gets a sunroof.
The images give us no hint on the equipment levels that will be offered on the inside. However previous reports suggest that Mahindra will ensure that the car will be well kitted even on the entry-level trim. The W4 is likely to get basics like power windows and air-conditioning. Mahindra has promised that even the base variant will get ABS, dual front airbags, all four disk brakes as standard. The top-spec W8 (O) will be equipped with class leading equipment such as seven airbags, front parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a sunroof.
The XUV300 is expected to be offered in at least 6 colour options – white, silver, red, orange, aquamarine and black. Additionally, customers are likely to be offered with optional chrome exterior add-ons, which include chrome tail lamp surrounds, bumper inserts and rear garnish as well as dual-tone wheel caps as a part of the accessories.
Upon the launch, the Mahindra XUV300 will go up against the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and even some variants of the Hyundai Creta. Engine options will be a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel found in the Marazzo. Both the engines will make best-in-class power and will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
