The Mahindra XUV300 will be launched in February 2019 and it will rival the EcoSport, Vitara Brezza and Nexon.
Mahindra has been testing the upcoming S201 in India since a lot of months and this compact SUV is based on the SsangYong Tivoli. The vehicle’s official name has now been announced and it is going to be called the XUV300. This is a sub-4-metre SUV and it will rival the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon.
The Mahindra XUV300 is based on a monocoque chassis and while it shares many components with the Tivoli, Mahindra has given the car some styling differences. As seen in the pictures, quite a few design elements are similar to its elder sibling the XUV500.
The Mahindra XUV300 comes with features like 7 airbags, ABS, sunroof, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, dual-zone climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, LED DRLs, projectors, reverse parking sensors, speed alerts and ISOFIX mounts.
At launch, this compact SUV will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The engine specs haven’t been revealed but the automaker stated that this will be the most powerful car in its segment. It is highly likely that the XUV300 will get the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that powers the Marazzo. It produces 123 PS and 300 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed MT. The XUV300 might also get an AMT.
The Mahindra XUV300 is going to be launched in the first half of February 2019 and we are expecting it to be priced between Rs. 9-14 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).
