The Mahindra Marazzo has scored well at the Global NCAP with 4-stars, which is a good news for MPV buyers.
The Tata Nexon and Mahindra Marazzo just went under the latest round of crash tests by Global NCAP. While the Nexon scores full 5-stars as a first for an Indian car, the Mahindra Marazzo has scored an impressive 4-stars in the crash test.
The Mahindra Marazzo is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS, driver seatbelt reminder and ISOFIX as standard across all the variants. The Indian MPV has scored 12.85 points out of 17 for adult occupancy protection while 22.22 points out of 49 for child occupancy protection.
The bodyshell of the Mahindra Marazzo was rated as stable and it was capable of withstanding further loadings as per the report shared by Global NCAP. Child occupancy protection in the Marazzo has been given 2-stars. The child seat in the Marazzo for the 3 year old was installed forward facing with ISOFIX in the test and top tether and was not able to prevent excessive forward movement during the impact leaving the head vulnerable while fair protection was offered to the chest.
The latest round of tests make a good impact in the Indian market when it comes to safety and with such ratings for Indian cars, the buyers will have a peace of mind while buying such cars. The safety awareness in India is getting wider and the upcoming crash test norms by the government will definitely make the matters better for the Indian car market.
