Yamaha has unveiled a supersport 300 category bike, YZF-R3 GYTR at the EICMA 2018.
Yamaha has unveiled a track-focused version of the YZF-R3 at the EICMA 2018. The bike will be produced in limited numbers under the Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing (GYTR) program. The Yamaha YZF-R3 GYTR is a race machine that gets many mechanical hardware upgrades.
The mechanical upgrades include Ohlins racing suspension, a Brembo front disc, a titanium exhaust from Akrapovic and GYTR engine kit. This kit enhances and helps the motor to abide the FIM regulation for the 2019 World Supersport 300 championship.
As it’s a race bike, it doesn’t come with mirrors, indicators, number plate holders and pillion seat. The pillion seat has been replaced with a rear cowl and the rider saddle has been reworked for a much aggressive riding position. The radiators of the bike are now larger for better cooling.
However, the power figures of the bike were not disclosed by Yamaha. We, expect it to be way more than the stock bike’s power of 42 PS and 29.6 Nm. Full specification and prices will be revealed in due time and availability of the bike will be a major question as it will be manufactured only in limited numbers.
