The Renault Lodgy has failed the Global NCAP crash test having no airbags and poor structural strength.
With Global NCAP’s Safer Cars For India campaign, new crash test results have been revealed. First up is the Maruti Vitara Brezza that has scored a healthy 4-stars as it comes with dual front airbags, ABS and ISOFIX seats as standard. However, the Renault Lodgy has failed the crash test with poor remarks.
The Renault Lodgy scored 0-stars at the Global NCAP tests due to multiple reasons. The French MPV doesn’t get airbags in its entry level variant which resulted in head and chest impact in frontal crash test. They also observed unstable structure with deformations found in the rear door and a rupture in the footwell area during the crash.
Additionally, the lack of ISOFIX anchorages resulted in poor Child Occupant Protection. The 3 year old dummy ended up impacting its head on the driver seat backrest. The Renault Lodgy achieved 0-stars for Adult Occupant Protection and 2-stars for Child Occupant Protection.
