The Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR scooter gets a new Street Rally Edition in India.
Continuing with its trend of regularly updating its scooter range, Yamaha today has launched a new Street Rally variant of its popular Cygnus Ray ZR scooter. The Street Rally variant is priced at Rs. 57,898/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is Rs. 2000/- more than the regular scooter.
The scooter is clearly aimed at the younger generation with its new wing style front fairing that is inspired from the MT-09. This not only acts as a wind deflector but also enhances the sporty look of the scooter. There’s also a new knuckle guard on the handle grip along with a movable front fender that protects from mud splatter. The scooter comes with a rising tail and a fully digital meter along with ‘roller rocker arm’ that reduces horsepower loss and adapts to extremely low speed ranges. The new Street Rally edition is available in Rally Red and Racing Blue colours.
Mechanically, there are no changes and the scooter continues to draw power from an air-cooled, 113cc engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) unit. Presence of 170 mm diameter front disc brake and alloy wheels reduces the inertial moment of the steering assembly and thus, contributes to light, agile handling characteristics.
Other notable features of the Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR Street Rally are 21-litres of under seat storage capacity, front pocket enough to fit a 500 ml bottle, key secure grip system and a two-level raised seat that provides comfort and reduces driver fatigue.
