Ford EcoSport Titanium+ has been introduced with a manual transmission in petrol guise, priced at Rs. 10.47 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).
Launched in November 2017, the facelifted Ford EcoSport poses as a worthy contender in the compact-SUV space with refreshed styling, new petrol engine and a better feature list across variants. The car was launched in 5 trims (Ambeinte, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+) with all petrol variants save for the Trend+ and Titanium+ coming with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The American manufacturer has now launched the Titanium+ petrol variant with manual gearbox which brings in additional kit at a much lower price than the Titanium+ AT trim.
Additional safety kit on offer over the erstwhile top-end petrol MT trim includes side & curtain airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, electronic brake assist, hill launch assist and ISOFIX mounts. There are some other features exclusive to the Titanium+ trim, leather seats, cruise control, automatic headlamps & wipers, 17-inch alloys and reverse camera being some of the prominent ones. The SYNC3-enabled 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit carried over from the Titanium trim continues to do duty.
Powering the EcoSport is a 1497cc 3-cylinder Dragon series engine developing 123 PS of power and 150 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the 6-speed AT gearbox is available as standard on Trend+ and now optional on Titanium+. There’s a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel motor on offer too that comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. Introduction of the Titanium+ MT petrol variant by Ford is definitely a step in the right direction.
