The 2019 Audi A6 has been officially revealed soon after pictures of the car were leaked on the internet.
Audi has taken wraps off the eighth-generation model of its executive sedan A6. The 2019 Audi A6 was originally scheduled to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show which is going to commence in a week’s time from now. However, some pictures of the car were leaked ahead of that and the German automaker finally decided to prepone the unveil and released official shots of the next-gen A6.
The 2019 Audi A6 will go on sale in Germany later this year while the India launch is expected in early 2019. In typical German fashion, the design hasn’t drastically changed and what we get instead is an evolution of the erstwhile A6’s styling. The new hexagonal front grill draped in chrome, sharp LED headlamps, larger air dams, meaty exhaust pipes and a more pronounced waistline makes the A6 look in line with Audi’s modern design language and also more with-the-times, in general.
The split-spoke alloy wheels, at 21-inch, are also a size larger. Powering the 2019 A6 is a range of mild-hybrid engines – a 3.0-litre V6 TFSI petrol, 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre TDI diesel motors – mated to an electrical system to supplement the engine’s power output. Changes on the inside consist of a 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit, a 10.1-inch MMI infotainment unit and an 8.6-inch display below it to fiddle with climate control and text input.
The navigation system comes with a self-learning feature to store regularly used routes and suggest alternatives when needed. Apart from support for vehicle-to-vehicle connectivity with other Audi cars, there are 37 driving assistance programmes including Level-3 autonomous driving system.
