Menza Lucat e-motorcycle has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 2.79 lakhs.
Founded in 2016, Menza Motors is a startup based out of Ahmedabad, Gujarat that works in the direction of achieving pollution-free mobility solutions. The company has unveiled its first product in India at the Auto Expo with high hopes. Named the Menza Lucat, the motorcycle has been priced at Rs. 2.79 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) and pre-bookings for the same are going to start this month with delivery promised in August 2018.
With over 84% localisation, the Lucat is a factory-custom motorcycle in which variables such as seat height, body type and footrest positioning can be tailored as per the customer’s requirement. The styling is pretty straight-forward with clip-on handlebars, digital console, LED headlamp, carbon-fibre body and partly exposed trellis frame being some of the highlights. The Lucat is being marketed as an Urban Sport motorcycle by the company. Menza Motors has done over 10,000 kms of testing on the motorcycle.
Powered by a brushless DC motor, the motorcycle boasts of peak power and torque figures of 24.13 BHP and 60 Nm respectively. Point to note is that the constant torque is much lower at 20 Nm. Tipping the scales at 153 kgs, the bike gets a rated top speed of 121 km/hr with a range of 100 kms per charge in the city and 150 kms on a highway. The li-ion battery takes 4 hours for a full charge and can also be charged completely in 90 minutes through a fast charger.
The Lucat gets WP Suspension USD forks at the front and a custom-made mono shock at the rear. Braking duties are headed by 300 mm front disc brake and 230 mm rear disc brake. The 17-inch spoked wheels come wrapped in 110-section and 150-section tyres at the front & rear respectively. Menza Motors is placing equal emphasis on availability of charging stations and has set up one near the Yamuna Expressway with more locations to be covered in future.
