Renault Captur Special Edition showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, gets projector headlights and cool graphics.
Renault has showcased the Special Edition Captur at the ongoing Auto Expo. Except for some minor cosmetic changes and few new pieces of equipment, the Special Edition car is similar to the standard Captur in all respects.
On the exterior front, there are new projector headlights (with the smoke effect) instead of the LED units. The Sapphire LED DRLs continue to feature without any changes. At the sides, while the alloys are identical to the regular Captur, the ORVMs are finished in blue (we particularly like the pattern on them) and there are Captur branded side steps. There are roof rails while the roof gets a blue and black decal.
The interior is vastly unchanged. There are blue inserts around the centre console and AC vents and that’s about it. The Special Edition Captur also remains mechanically unchanged. It is still powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine makes 106 HP and 142 Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The K9K diesel engine churns out 110 HP and 240 Nm of torque and comes paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Captur Special Edition is likely to be launched in the Indian market in the coming months. The French automaker is hoping that this could boost the sales of the SUV.
