Maruti Dzire Special Edition has been showcased at the Auto Expo, comes with various cosmetic changes.
Launched in 2008 as a stretched version of the popular Swift hatchback, the Maruti Dzire turned around the brand’s fortunes in the sedan segment. Currently in its third generation, the Dzire has been a successful product for the Japanese automaker which has now showcased a special edition variant of the same. The Maruti Dzire Special Edition is based on top-end ZXi+ and ZDi+ trims and comes equipped with features such as alloy wheels and touchscreen infotainment unit.
On the outside, the car comes with a full body kit comprising of front, rear and side skirts. There’s also a door beading with chrome garnish slapped on to the sides. Together, the changes lend the Dzire a premium and upmarket stance. The cabin is draped in black theme with silver accents. Even the seats get black faux leather upholstery with quilted pattern on the bolsters.
There are no changes to the mechanicals and the car continues with a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor. The engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with an option of a 5-speed AMT unit. Prices for the regular Dzire start at Rs. 5.56 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
