Jeep Compass Trailhawk to be launched in India later this year, is a more off-road biased car.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is headed to the Indian shores sometime later this year. However, Jeep hasn’t confirmed the exact specifications of the Trailhawk headed to our market. The Trailhawk is a more off-road focused SUV with unique alloy wheels, signature red recovery hooks, black hood sticker, underbody skid plates, all-weather floor mats and the Trailhawk and Trail Rated badging across the body.
Not just aesthetics, the Trailhawk also gets a proper off-road kit. It gets Jeep’s Active Drive low-range 4WD and a new Rock mode for its SelecTerrain 4WD system. Sitting 20 mm higher above the ground, the Trailhawk also gets different front and rear bumpers that facilitate better approach (30-degrees) and departure (33.6-degrees) angles. Hill Descent Control will be offered as standard.
Currently, the Compass comes powered by a 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine and a 1.4-litre MultiAir petrol motor. The oil-burner unit is mated to 6-speed manual while the petrol mill comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DDCT automatic gearbox. It remains to be seen what specifications will make it to the India-spec Compass Trailhawk.
