The 2018 Mahindra TUV300 Plus utility vehicle has been launched in India priced at Rs. 9.47 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). As the name suggests, the TUV300 Plus is a plus-sized variant of the existing TUV300. The vehicle is available in three variants as of now – P4, P6 and P8. The homegrown automaker has also made available customisable finance options with low down payment and EMIs as low as Rs. 11,999/-.
Design-wise, the TUV300 Plus is identical to the TUV300 till the B-pillar. From there on, the Plus is a different car. The rear profile gets redesigned tail-lights and has a spare wheel mounted on the tail-gate like the TUV300. Replacing the Xylo in Mahindra’s line-up of cars, the TUV300 Plus has the same wheelbase (of 2680 mm) as the TUV300.
The cabin is identical to the TUV300 in all respects. The extra length of the car has managed to squeeze in a third-row seat making this vehicle a 9-seater. However, the third-row seat is side facing and not front facing. In terms of features, the TUV300 Plus gets four power windows, central locking, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS Navigation, manual AC with heater, internally adjustable ORVMs, reverse parking camera, faux leather seats and a power steering with tilt function.
Powering the 2018 Mahindra TUV300 Plus is a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine producing 120 BHP of power and 280 Nm of torque. The oil-burner comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox unlike the 5-speed unit in the TUV300. The vehicle comes shod with 215-section tyres with steel wheels and gets a 60-litre fuel tank capacity. Dual airbags and ABS with EBD are standard across the range.
