2018 Bajaj Discover 110 has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 50,176/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Launch of the Discover series in 2004 helped Bajaj Auto establish a strong foothold in the commuter motorcycle segment. However, the Bajaj Discover lost its popularity over the years with the arrival of newer competition. Starting on a fresh note, the domestic automaker has now launched the 2018 Bajaj Discover 110 which slots in between the Platina and the more powerful Discover 125 in the brand’s portfolio. An attractive sticker price of Rs. 50,176/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) also helps it undercut the competition by a small margin.
The Discover 110 borrows its inoffensive styling from the 125cc sibling with a cosmetic overhaul to keep up with the times. Besides ‘inverted horns’ shaped LED DRLs, tail lamp bezel and sharp body graphics, the motorcycle now gets a lower half finished in black. The black treatment is seen on the telescopic forks, engine casing and the ‘Spider’ alloy wheels as well. While the dual textured seats and grab rail is single-piece as expected in a commuter, there is a new part-digital instrument cluster which comes with an analog tachometer and looks quite premium.
The 2018 Discover 110 offers telescopic forks up front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The suspension system now offers 16-25% more travel as compared to what the competitors offer. The 115.5cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled and carburetted motor develops 8.6 PS of power and 9.81 Nm of torque. Mated to a 4-speed gearbox with an active clutch, the Discover 110 promises to be relatively high on fuel efficiency as well as performance. Braking department is headed by drum brakes on both the wheels. Fuel tank capacity is rated at 8-litres.
The 2018 Bajaj Discover 110 can be had in a choice of 3 colours – Ebony Black, Flame Red and Blue. Speaking of features, the motorcycle comes fairly equipped for its class and offers a digital display, alloy wheels and electric start. Bajaj Auto has priced the motorcycle aggressively to compete in the herd of 110cc commuters. The Discover 110 will go head-to-head with the TVS Victor, Hero Passion Pro and Honda Dream series. Meanwhile, the company has also updated its other offerings including the Discover 125 for this year.
