Maruti Future S concept has been teased, to make its global debut at the 2018 Auto Expo.
Maruti Suzuki has teased an image of its upcoming compact SUV-styled compact car named Future S. The global preview of the concept car is scheduled to happen at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Future S will be slotted below the Vitara Brezza and with this new vehicle, the automaker intends to redefine the compact car space in India.
Coming to the teaser image, it reveals an upright stance, higher seating position and ground clearance, all of which give it SUV credentials. The horizontal hood, near vertical A-pillar, high bonnet line and muscular haunches give the car a unique stance and posture and overall the sketch reveals an aggressive attitude of the vehicle and makes it look more like an SUV than a crossover. The carmaker is hoping that the new design on the production version of the Future S will appeal to a wider customer base. The production version of the car could enter showrooms later this year or in the first half of 2019.
Like Maruti’s latest cars, the Future S too will underpin the ‘Heartect’ platform and powertrain options are likely to include the famous 1.2-litre K-Series petrol, an in-house developed new diesel engine and an electric version. The company will be taking feedback on the concept from visitors at the Auto Expo and more details on the concept car and its production version will be available then.
