The 2018 Bajaj Avenger 180 will replace the Avenger 150 in a bid to offer more value against the Intruder 150.

Bajaj feels the Avenger 180 will match the Intruder 150 in terms of performance and features; hence likely to discontinue the Avenger 150

Bajaj intends to offer more value to its customers against the Suzuki Intruder 150 and hence is likely to discontinue the Avenger 150 and bring in the bigger Avenger 180. The Intruder 150 offers a little more in terms of features but at a slight premium over the Avenger 150. When compared to the 150, the Avenger 180 will offer more capacity, performance and features. This will make the Avenger 180, a strategically better rival to the Intruder 150 while also asking a price similar to that of the Suzuki’s.

The cruiser bike will get a BS4 compliant 180cc 2-valve single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine which Bajaj has been manufacturing for the last 17 years. The powertrain is likely to output 15-16 HP of power and 14-15 Nm of torque. Single-channel ABS could be offered as optional as of now. Prices for the Avenger 180 are likely to stretch by approximately Rs. 5000/- over the Avenger 150 which currently retails at Rs. 81,459/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Alongside the Avenger 180, the Avenger 220 is also likely to be updated. The Avenger gets only cosmetic changes and no mechanical changes. The Suzuki Intruder is currently available only in a single variant which is priced at Rs. 98,340/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). This variant comes with a single-channel ABS as standard.
