The Ford Figo facelift has been spotted in India, is likely to get a crossover version too.
The facelifted Ford Figo and the crossover version of the Figo have been spotted in India in a fully camouflaged avatar. Ford launched the current generation Figo in 2015 and the model is due for a facelift soon. The updated hatchback is expected to debut sometime next year. The vehicle is expected to get a refreshed front fascia and a new set of alloy wheels. The rear profile is also expected to get subtle tweaks to tail-lights and the bumper. The spotted crossover variant of the Figo gets body cladding, new alloy wheels and roof rails.
On the interior front, the facelifted Ford Figo’s cabin is expected to get subtle tweaks and a new touchscreen infotainment system from the facelifted EcoSport with SYNC3, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While Ford is expected to retain the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine in the Figo, there are speculations that the new 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine (Dragon) from the new EcoSport could be plonked under the hatchback’s hood. It could also get the same automatic transmission as the new EcoSport.
The Ford Figo competes with hatchbacks like the Maruti Swift while the crossover version will rival the likes of the Toyota Etios Cross and Hyundai i20 Active.
