The Made in India Toyota Etios Liva manages to get a 4 star rating in the crash tests conducted by Global NCAP and AA South Africa.
The Made in India Toyota Etios Liva Global NCAP score is 4 stars for adult occupant protection and 3 stars for the child occupant protection. The latest rounds of crash tests were carried out as a part of the Safer Cars for Africa initiative by Global NCAP and AA (Automobile Association) South Africa.
In the frontal crash test conducted at 64 km/hr, the Etios Liva’s structure was termed as ‘stable, offering good general adult occupant protection.’ The recommended child seats by Toyota were used for the test and the car featured two airbags. Other participants included the Volkswagen Polo Vivo, Renault Sandero, Datsun GO+ and the Chery QQ3.
The Datsun GO+ despite having a driver airbag scored a 1 star rating for adult occupant protection and 2 stars for child occupant protection. The car’s structure was rated as unstable and in case of the frontal crash test, the steering wheel movement recorded high compression to the chest of the driver dummy.
