The Mahindra TUV300 Plus ‘P4’ base variant has been spotted, looks ready for launch.
The base variant named ‘P4’ of the Mahindra TUV300 Plus has been spotted yet again but this time completely undisguised. Looking at the spy shots, the car looks ready for launch. The TUV300 Plus will replace the Xylo in India.
The spotted test mule gets black bumpers, grille, door handles and basic steel wheels. The TUV300 Plus as the name suggests is a plus-sized version of the existing TUV300. The interior of the TUV300 Plus looks similar to the TUV300. The dashboard gets a dual-tone black and beige treatment. There are TUV300 Plus badging at the rear and unlike the sub 4-metre version, the TUV300 Plus gets a tail-gate mounted spare wheel.
While the exterior and interior looks are similar to the TUV300, the TUV300 Plus gets a bigger 1.99-litre mHawk diesel engine under its hood. The 1.99-litre oil-burner produces 120 HP of power. This is the same engine that does its duty in the Mahindra Scorpio sold in the Delhi-NCR region. Engine components like the turbocharger, vacuum resonator and modulator, coolant reservoir and the oil filler cap seem to be put together differently which confirms that this isn’t the 1.5 diesel unit that is seen in the TUV300.
Dealer sources confirm that the SUV will be available in different seating configurations with the lower spec variant being a 9-seater with side facing jump seats. The vehicle will rival the Honda BR-V, the only other 7-seater in the segment.
