Bajaj’s Boxer, CT 100 and Pulsar continue to dominate the top 10 2-wheeler exports list even for the first half of FY 2017-18.
Bajaj continues to rule the roost when it comes to the top 2-wheelers exported from the Indian market. The Boxer, CT 100 and Pulsar brands continue to occupy the top 3 positions in the top 2-wheelers exported list for the first half of FY 2017-18 as well.
The automaker saw a 6.6 percent increase in exports during the April-September 2017 period and interestingly, bikes outsold scooters in the competition. Bajaj sold 2,76,918 units of the Boxer in the April-September 2017 period which has major demand in markets like Africa and Latin America. The company exports 100cc to 150cc variants of the Boxer.
Standing at the second and third spots are the Pulsar and CT 100 selling 1,51,073 and 1,03,300 units respectively. TVS’ Star City occupies the fourth spot selling 1,03,026 units and has posted the highest growth in the list. The Honda Dio, the sole scooter in the list retains its fifth spot by selling 79,328 units while the TVS Apache sells 59,357 units.
The TVS Apache stands at the sixth spot now. Bajaj’s Discover slips to the seventh position selling 46,990 units for the first half of FY 2017-18. The Discover had reported exports of 54,113 units for the same period last year.
The Yamaha FZ stands at the eighth spot by selling 36,833 units, while the Hero Splendor and Yamaha YD 125 make an entry into the top 10 2-wheelers exported list, standing in the ninth and tenth spots respectively. Hero exported 29,699 units of the Splendor while Yamaha exported 29,074 units of the YD 125.
