The Tata X451 premium hatchback has been spotted testing on Indian roads for the very first time.
You see it first on MotorBeam. The upcoming Maruti Baleno rival from Tata Motors codenamed X451 has been spied testing on Indian roads for the first time. The X451 will also rival the Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz. MotorBeam reader Shantanu Godase spotted the car in Pune and clicked these images for us.
The spotted test mule is in its early stages of development and is heavily camouflaged. There are round headlights placed temporarily and the gap around the headlight makes it evident that the premium hatchback will get a sweptback headlight unit. The tail-lights also have been temporarily put and the vehicle here gets steel wheels.
The Tata X451 will be based on Tata’s new AMP platform and will have a design similar to that of the Nexon. There is no strong information available on the specifications of the powertrain, however, we could speculate that Tata will plonk the new 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines that do duty in the Nexon.
Expect Tata Motors to load the X451 with all the bells and whistles seen in a premium hatchback like a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control and projector headlights with LED DRLs. Remember, this car replaces the Bolt.
There is also a speculation that Tata will launch a sedan based on the X451 that will rival the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz.
