Audi has launched the Design Edition variants on the Q7 & A6 in India, both come with minor cosmetic changes and extra equipment.
Audi is celebrating 10 years of its successful journey here in India by launching the Design Edition variants on the Q7 & A6. The Design Edition Q7 and A6 come priced at Rs. 81.99 lakhs and Rs. 56.78 lakhs respectively, both prices (ex-showroom, pan-India).
Audi Q7 Design Edition
The Design Edition Q7 & A6 will be limited edition models and sold until stocks last. Coming to the additional features, the Design Edition Q7 gets Audi Smartphone Interface, smoked tail-lights, gloss black finished running board and exhaust tips, 20-inch cast aluminium 5-spoke star design alloy wheels and puddle lamps that project Audi logo at the front and quattro at the rear.
The Design Edition Q7 continues to be powered by the same 3.0-litre TDI diesel engine that produces 249 HP of power and 600 Nm of torque thereby propelling the SUV from 0-100 km/hr in 7.1 seconds. Mated to this engine is an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission that channels the power to the quattro all-wheel drive system.
Audi A6 Design Edition
The Design Edition A6, on the other hand, gets Audi smartphone interface, puddle lamps that project the Audi logo at the front and rear, rear seat entertainment screens and 19-inch cast aluminium semi-V-spoke star design alloy wheels. The Design Edition A6 also continues to be powered by the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine that produces 190 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque.
Other common features on both the Design Edition Q7 & A6 are the Matrix LED headlights with dynamic turn indicators, electrically foldable ORVMs with memory function, electromechanical power steering, cruise control, Audi Drive Select with adaptive air suspension, driver’s seat with memory function, electrically adjustable front seats, and 8 airbags.
The Audi Q7 rivals the Volvo XC90, Mercedes GLS and BMW X5 while the A6 rivals the BMW 5-Series, Volvo S90, Jaguar XF and Mercedes E-Class.
