Suzuki has launched the Gixxer SF with a single-channel ABS unit which is available in both Carburetted and Fuel Injected variants.
Suzuki has expanded the Gixxer portfolio in India by launching the Gixxer SF ABS. The newly launched Gixxer SF ABS is available in two variants – Carburetted which is priced at Rs. 95,499/- and the Fuel Injected variant which is priced at Rs. 99,312/- (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
In a segment where none of the other players are offering this safety feature, this is indeed a welcome move from Suzuki. Like they say, something is better than nothing. This is a single-channel ABS unit that works on the front wheel only. The Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS is the first motorcycle in its segment to offer ABS. An advantage of having ABS is that wheels don’t lock up in the case of panic braking or in the case of excessive braking on a slippery road and thereby helps the rider to maintain balance on the motorcycle and avoid a crash.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS continues to be powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 14.8 HP of power and 14 Nm of torque in both the fuel-injected and carburetted engines. This powerplant comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are via standard telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are via disc brakes at both the ends.
While the carburetted variant tips the scale at 140 kgs, the fuel injected variant weighs 141 kgs. The Suzuki Gixxer SF ABS is available in a choice of two colours – Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Mat Black.
