Carberry Motorcycles twin-cylinder 1000cc Royal Enfield engine launched, includes only the primary drive and transmission.
Australian custom bike builder Carberry Motorcycles has launched its 1000cc twin-cylinder Royal Enfield engine. This V-Twin engine includes only the primary drive and transmission. The exhaust has been excluded because it is frame independent. Carberry Motorcycles is now based in Bhilai, Madhya Pradesh.
This 1000cc powerplant includes a 7-plate clutch with strengthened primary chain, 5-speed transmission, hydraulic filters and a heavy crankshaft. Oil-capacity is 3.7 litres and the lifters and oil pumps run in their own housings protecting the engine cases from wear and tear. The 1.0-litre motor has been developed in a way to ensure there is linear power-delivery across the rev range with lesser vibrations.
Carberry has priced this engine at Rs. 4,96,000/- (ex-factory) with freight, handling and taxes being extra. In case of exports, there will be a warranty surcharge and a higher handling charge. Customers will have to pay 50 percent deposit upfront while ordering for the engine and the delivery time will be roughly 4-7 months.
This powertrain is not road-legal in India yet but Carberry will be working with ARAI for road-legal certification. This mill is meant for those existing homologated Carberry motorcycles (either for exports or for display purposes).
