The Ducati 1299 Panigale R Final Edition has been launched in India and priced at Rs. 59.18 lakhs.
Ducati has launched the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition in India, priced at Rs. 59.18 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). As the name suggests, the Ducati 1299 Panigale R Final Edition will be the last Ducati production superbike with an L-Twin engine as the company is now moving to V4 engines.
Wearing Ducati’s celebratory livery, each of the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition models will be numbered. Compared to the previous 1299 Panigale R, the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition comes in a tri-colour livery inspired by the Italian flag, red painted alloy wheels and an Akrapovic dual exhaust system as seen in the 1299 Superleggera.
The 1299 Panigale R gets a World Superbike spec racing derived chassis and top quality parts. Inside that fairing is a mad 1285cc superquadro, desmodromic, liquid-cooled, L-Twin engine that belts out 209 HP and 142 Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS). There are other host of electronics on offer as well, like the Ducati Safety Pack that features cornering ABS from Bosch, Ducati Traction Control EVO (DTC EVO), Ducati Wheelie Control EVO (DWC EVO), Engine Brake Control (EBC), Ducati Data Analyser (DDA+) with GPS, etc.
For the first time on a Ducati motorcycle, the full TFT colour instrument console features a lean angle visualisation that allows the rider to see the lean angle achieved by them on the dash in real time. The 1299 Panigale R Final Edition also includes several parts made from carbon fibre like the front and rear mudguards, heel guards and the shock cover, making the motorcycle lighter. This Ducati weights just 168 kgs, as much as a KTM Duke 390!
Suspension is Ohlins at both ends while braking is taken care off by twin 330 mm semi-floating discs with Brembo calipers upfront and a 245 mm disc at the rear. Tyres are Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SPs.
