2017 Hyundai Verna spotted yet again in Tamil Nadu, will launch this August 2017.
As the launch of the 2017 Hyundai Verna nears, we see the automakers doing many test runs of the C-segment sedan. The 2017 Hyundai Verna will be launched this August and the car has been spotted yet again ahead of its launch by MotorBeam reader Shanth in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The test mule spotted is probably a mid-level variant as it has steel wheels with a wheel cap in place of alloy wheels. The car we spotted the last time had alloy wheels. In spite of being camouflaged, the Verna did reveal some details. For instance, the headlamps housed LED DRLs and the shape of the headlamps is more like the ones seen on the Elantra.
The new generation Verna will be larger and lighter than the current generation model and is expected to get the signature Hyundai family grille upfront and a redesigned bumper. While the side remains largely unchanged, the rear gets wrap-around LED taillamps like the ones on the Elite i20 and the Elantra.
In terms of dimensions, the 2017 Hyundai Verna is 15 mm longer, 29 mm wider and sits on a wheelbase that is 10 mm more than the current generation model. Result is a roomier and spacious cabin. The chassis in the car sees minor updates which makes it more lighter and stronger meanwhile the suspension too gets tweaks that should make the driving dynamics of the car better than the current generation model.
The interiors will get a new dashboard with more upmarket and premium materials and the top of the line variant will get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. Hyundai is expected to offer dual airbags and ABS as standard across the 2017 Verna range.
The new iteration of the model is expected to be powered by the same 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines producing 90 HP and 107 HP of power respectively. The top of the line 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines producing 123 HP and 128 HP respectively will also be on offer.
