Yamaha FZ AHO launched, priced at Rs. 81,611/- for the FZ-FI and Rs. 83,674/- for the FZ-S FI, the motorcycle gets new graphics.
You read it first on MotorBeam. Yamaha recently gave the FZ series and Fazer some cosmetic changes and also added AHO to the said motorcycles. It has been over 7 weeks since the new norms came into effect but the fuel-injected 150cc Yamaha motorcycles have been BS4 compliant since more than two years now so we will choose to call the updated bike as Yamaha FZ AHO and not Yamaha FZ BS4.
Both the FZ and FZ-S are powered by a 149cc air-cooled single-cylinder 4-stroke 2-valve fuel injected mill that produces 13.2 HP and 12.8 Nm of torque. This engine comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The AHO versions also gets some extra features like a better grippy and comfortable seat, new saree guard, new graphics on the motorcycle and a long one piece tail kit.
The AHO version models miss out on the rather odd-looking rear tyre hugger which was also prone to be noisy when loose. Rest all the specifications and features of the motorcycle remain the same. The bike gets a disc and drum brake setup for the front and rear tyre respectively and comes suspended via telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear.
The Yamaha FZ is available in two colour schemes – Barrel Red and Bomber Black, and comes priced at Rs. 81,611/-, while the more flashy looking FZ-S FI is available in 5 colour schemes Hurricane Grey, Knight Red, Lightning Cyan, Opal White and Matte Green. The first four colour schemes are priced at Rs. 83,674/- and the Matte Green is slightly expensive by Rs. 1000/- taking the price to Rs. 84,674/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Yamaha FZ series rival the Bajaj Pulsar 180, TVS Apache RTR 160, Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet 160R. It is the top selling bike in its segment, selling more than its primary Japanese rivals combined while being the third most selling 150cc motorcycle in the country, after the Pulsar 150 and Unicorn 150.
