The 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift has been doing test runs in Chennai, Tamil Nadu ahead of its launch.
Ford will launch the facelifted EcoSport in India later this year. Lately, there have been players entering this sub-compact SUV segment thereby offering the Indian customer a wide range of choices. It’s high time Ford gave the EcoSport a major facelift and keep it relevant to the Indian market.
The Ford EcoSport facelift has been caught testing in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The test mule was camouflaged at the front and rear and was being accompanied by another EcoSport that currently sells in the Indian market. Styling changes are similar to the model showcased at the LA Motor Show. MotorBeam reader Arvind Gopalakrishnan spotted the car and clicked the pictures.
The front fascia is different now and looks fresh. There’s a new bumper at the front with redesigned headlamps and fog lamps. The side profile remains largely unchanged and the rear gets a slightly tweaked bumper. The facelifted model did sport the tailgate-mounted spare wheel whereas the model showcased at the LA Motor Show didn’t. The alloy wheels get a new design.
The interiors of the EcoSport are expected to receive major changes. The dashboard is likely to get a tweaked layout with changes to the centre console too. The infotainment system is likely to be revised and you can expect the compact SUV to get a couple of additional features too.
Ford is also expected to carry forward the same engine options on the facelifted EcoSport as well. Ford is currently offering 1.5-litre diesel, 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engines on the vehicle.
