Royal Enfield is yet to start dispatches of BS-IV motorcycles to its dealerships.
Just recently, there was news that Royal Enfield has upgraded its motorcycles to BS-IV and has also started dispatches. When we got in touch with a few dealers, they said they were yet to receive BS-IV motorcycles from the company and the same would take another couple of weeks.
However, we saw the Electra without the headlight on/off switch and the motorcycle was equipped with AHO. The dealer clarified that the company has equipped its BS-III bikes with AHO as well with BS-IV units still awaited.
Royal Enfield is among the last of 2-wheeler manufacturers to update its motorcycles to meet the upcoming BS-IV emission norms which become mandatory from 1st April 2017. Most Royal Enfield dealers have a lot of stock as they have multiple bikes on display but all have been reserved for sale as post 1st April, no BS-III bike will be allowed to be registered in India.
