The Skoda Octavia Onyx Edition has been launched and it comes with cosmetic tweaks.
Skoda has announced the launch of a limited edition for the Octavia which is called the Onyx edition. Visually the car gets some differences like new 16-inch Premia black alloy wheels and blacked out ORVMs. The car also gets a body coloured spoiler and also new decorative foils and door sills.
The Skoda Octavia Onyx comes equipped with bi-xenon projector headlamps, 12-way electronically adjustable driver’s seat and a panoramic sunroof. The car also gets Adaptive Frontlight System (AFS), this feature adjusts the headlight automatically depending on the driving condition, thus improving the safety quotient of the car.
The limited edition of the car will be available in both petrol and diesel options. The car is powered by a 1.8-litre TSI motor, which produces 177 HP of power and 250 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The diesel engine used here is a 2.0-litre TDI unit. The motor churns out 144 HP of power and 320 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed DSG gearbox. The base variant also gets a 1.4-litre TSI engine but the Onyx edition won’t be offered with that.
Only 100 units of the limited edition car will be available for the Indian market. The pricing for the limited edition hasn’t been announced but it will be priced at a premium of approximately Rs. 20,000-25,000/- over the Style Plus variant. The Octavia Style Plus is priced at Rs. 22.39 lakhs and Rs. 24.05 lakhs for the petrol and diesel variants respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai).
