Fiat has recently launched the 90 HP Grande Punto and is now planning to expand its export portfolio to the SAARC countries soon. The company is currently exporting cars only to South Africa. Fiat currently has 3 cars in the form of the Palio, Linea and the Grande Punto. Soon to come is a more powerful version of the Linea (T – Jet) and a CNG version of the Punto is also on the cards. This gives Fiat more options as far as exports are concerned.

Fiat India is currently selling 2,500 units per month, out of which 1,500 units are of Punto. The company has a production unit with a capacity of producing 2 lakh cars and 3 lakh engines at their plant in Ranjangaon, near Pune.
