The 2017 Audi A3 Cabriolet uses a smaller 1.4-litre TFSI engine, instead of the outgoing model’s 1.8-litre unit.
Audi has launched the updated 2017 A3 Cabriolet for the Indian market. The bookings for the new model have already commenced and the deliveries will start within a few days. Audi has priced this CBU model at Rs. 47.80 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and no, it’s not the most affordable convertible car in India as that honour rests with the MINI Cooper S Convertible.
The 2017 Audi A3 Cabriolet facelift gets a 1.4-litre TFSI motor which was earlier seen on the new generation A4. The A3 Cabriolet comes with only one engine option. The engine produces 150 BHP of power and 250 Nm of torque. Earlier the car used to come with a 1.8-litre TFSI engine which produced 180 BHP of power and the same amount of torque. The new powerplant comes mated to a 7-speed S-tronic transmission. The company claims that the 2017 Audi A3 Cabriolet returns a mileage of 19.20 km/l.
The 2017 A3 Cabriolet looks different from the previous generation model, the car looks more like the new A4 from the front. It gets Matrix LED headlamps, the front bumper has also been tweaked a bit and the grille now looks wider. The dimensions are same as that of the pre-facelift model.
On the inside, the 2017 Audi A3 Cabriolet comes with a new 7.0-inch infotainment system with navigation, dual-zone air conditioning, park assist with camera, five airbags, ABS with EBD and there is also an option to fit in Bang & Olufsen audio system.
The best feature of the new Audi A3 Cabriolet is that the roof can now be raised or lowered even at speeds of up to 50 km/hr using an electro hydraulic mechanism.
