The Ducati 1299 Superleggera has been launched in India, priced at Rs. 1.12 crore.
Ducati had showcased the 1299 Superleggera at the EICMA in November 2016. The bike has now been launched in India at an incredible price tag of Rs. 1.12 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the looks front, the 1299 Superleggera definitely looks extremely beautiful and the Italian styling is sure to win hearts over.
The Ducati 1299 Superleggera is claimed to be the lightest mass-produced motorcycle that comes with a twin-cylinder engine. The bike weighs just 167 kgs because a lot of carbon fibre has been used in the monocoque frame, wheels and swingarm. The screws have been made up of titanium. The bike’s weight has been lowered by as much as 40% thanks to the use of these lightweight parts.
The Ducati 1299 Superleggera is powered by a 1285cc, twin-cylinder, Superquadro engine that also powers the Panigale. The engine produces 212 horses while the additional Race Kit makes the bike produce 218 HP and 147 Nm. The engine is matched to a 6-speed gearbox which also has a quickshifter.
The 1299 is loaded with a lot of tech like Bosch Cornering ABS, Ducati Slide Control, Engine Brake Control, Ducati Power Launch and Ducati Traction Control. It is going to be interesting to see how many takers does the Ducati 1299 Superleggera find in India!
