The TVS Akula 310 has been spied testing with the tail-lights uncovered.
The TVS Akula 310 tail-lights look really good in the new spy shots. It has been spied once again, this time undergoing testing in Bangalore. In the spy images, the tail-light is fully undisguised revealing a fascinating LED unit. It looks good and in line with the sharp and edgy character of the motorcycle.
The bike undergoing testing looked bulbous and seemed like a bigger capacity motorcycle due to the fairing upfront. The TVS Akula 310 sports a chunky rear tyre although the seat position is a fair bit relaxed as compared to the concept that was shown at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Akula 310 carries a BMW G310R like exhaust canister which continues to hint at the possibility of TVS taking it to the production version as well.
The bike will be powered by the same 313cc liquid-cooled 4-valve engine found on the BMW G310R and the upcoming G310 GS. On the said models it produces 34 PS of peak power and 28 Nm of torque. The tuning of the motor for the Akula will be the same or different is not known till date.
The TVS Akula 310 will be a track focussed bike and will compete with the likes of the Yamaha R3, KTM RC 390 and the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar RS 400. The Akula 310 will come with premium components and will be manufactured at the automaker’s facility in Hosur, Bangalore alongside the G310R.
TVS will have to price the bike very aggressively in the market owing to the fact that Bajaj has seriously upped their price game with the pricing of the Dominar 400. The motorcycle will launch in India in the first half of 2017. After Bajaj, it is TVS’ turn to shock the Indian market and come with a truly special product.
