A new compact SUV is being developed by Jeep and it will be positioned in the sub 4-metre SUV segment.
Jeep recently entered the Indian market with the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler and both the vehicles are positioned as premium SUVs, competing in the higher spectrum of price range. Both the vehicles have a lot of worthy competitors but Jeep is now focusing on more affordable SUVs.
The company will be launching the Renegade and Compass SUVs in India. Apart from these, the company is also looking at launching an affordable compact SUV that will cost a bit more than Rs. 10 lakhs. Jeep wants this compact SUV to measure less than 4-metres in length and it will be positioned above the Ford EcoSport.
The new Jeep will be slotted below the Renegade. The launch timeframe of the car isn’t clear and neither has the company revealed any more details about the car. When launched, it will compete with the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster.
