The Volkswagen Polo now comes with ABS as standard fitment on all trims.
Most major car manufacturers have started offering safety features as standard fitment on all trims of their vehicles, ahead of the new vehicle safety norms that will kick in soon. Volkswagen has been offering dual front airbags on all trims of the Polo since 2014 and now the automaker has made ABS also a standard feature on all trims.
The Volkswagen Polo gets 3 trims – Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. Apart from this, it also gets the GT TSI and GT TDI trims. ABS was initially standard only on the Highline and GT trims only, but then Volkswagen started offering it on the Comfortline trim too. Finally, even the Trendline trim gets ABS now, thus making the safety feature available on all variants on the car.
The Volkswagen Polo is offered with 1.2-litre MPI petrol and 1.5-litre TDI diesel engines. The GT TSI trim gets a 1.2-litre TSI petrol engine while the GT TDI gets a more powerful version of the TDI engine. The Volkswagen Polo is a premium hatchback that competes with the Fiat Punto Evo, Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz.
