Bajaj Avenger BS-IV has been launched in India as the Indian automaker updates all its bikes to the upcoming emission norms.
Bajaj Auto has just upgraded the Avenger to comply with the upcoming BS-IV emission norms. The company claims that the Bajaj Avenger is the first bike to switch to BS-IV which isn’t true as the Honda CB Hornet 160R was launched with a BS-IV engine last year on 19th August.
The Bajaj Avenger consisted of just one motorcycle, the 220 but was updated in October 2015 with three versions – Street 150, Street 220 and Cruise 220. The company hasn’t specified which engine has been updated to meet the new regulations but we expect both the 150cc and 220cc engines to now comply with the greener norms.
Bajaj Auto recently updated the Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180 and Pulsar 220 with BS-IV engines and the latter most is already on sale. The ‘Definitely Male’ bike got updates to its appearance with new stickers and graphics but there is no such changes on the Avengers. A minor price hike is expected on the Bajaj Avenger BS-IV.
