The Royal Enfield 750cc motorcycle is expected to launch in March 2017. The higher capacity motorcycle will sustain the demand for the manufacturer’s products in the market.
Royal Enfield is a manufacturer that is growing consistently with its retro styled products. Their motorcycles have huge demand in the market and often command waiting periods. Recently, the manufacturer entered a new segment by launching the Himalayan. The motorcycle has been doing good since then.
Now, the automaker plans to enter the high capacity motorcycle segment and increase its presence in the market. The bike has been developed keeping in mind the need of markets like North America where people prefer high capacity cruisers. The 750cc bike is also expected to be launched in India as the flagship model of Royal Enfield.
The new bike is expected to be powered by a new 750cc motor putting out around 40-50 HP and 60-70 Nm of torque. The engine also gets an oil cooler like the Himalayan engine, which suggests that Royal Enfield must have used newer overhead cam layout like the LS410 engine in the Himalayan dumping the traditional pushrods. The bike will target entry level premium motorcycles such as the Harley-Davidson Street 750 and the Triumph Bonneville.
The engine has been spied testing around the world in a Continental GT. The motorcycle will launch at the end of this financial year i.e. march 2017 according to the company officials. Royal Enfield is investing around Rs. 600 crore in this year which includes a new plant at Vallam Vadagal on the outskirts of Chennai, a tech centre in UK and new products. Coming financial year 2019, the automaker will have a capacity of 9,00,000 units.
