The 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade has been revealed at Intermot and is an exciting upgrade to the popular superbike.
A lot of exciting bikes have been showcased at the 2016 Intermot and the new Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade is one of them. Honda has showcased the Fireblade SP as well as the Fireblade SP2 which is a homologation special bike. The Japanese firm concentrated the most on Power-To-Weight while developing this bike.
The Honda Fireblade comes with a 999.8cc, inline 4-cylinder engine with a bore and stroke of 76 x 55.1 mm. The superbike belts out 189 HP of power at 12,500 RPM and the engine also weighs 2 kgs lesser than the older unit. The Fireblade comes with a 16-litre fuel tank while the exhaust is made up of titanium. The bike also gets a slipper clutch.
The 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade comes with a host of electronics like Honda Selectable Torque System, cornering ABS, Selectable Engine Braking, Suspension Control Unit, Downshift Assist, Ride Mode Select System with 3 modes – Track, Sport and Comfort. There is also a Power Selector on offer which offers three levels of power output.
The wheels of the Fireblade get a Y-shape design. The front and rear wheels are 120/70/17 and 190/50/17 sizes respectively. The bike gets LED lights all around and it also gets a TFT liquid crystal dash with 3 modes – Street, Circuit and Mechanic.
The 2017 Honda CBR1000RR SP2 is a homologation special bike and it is made for racing purposes. Only 500 units of the bike will be produced. It produces same power as the SP but comes with a revised cylinder head, valve angles and altered pistons. The diameter of the valve lifter has also increased. The SP2 comes with programmable launch control, pit lane limiter and 5 level power selector.
