Honda and Hero continue to boss the list of the top 10 selling bikes in August 2016.
The Honda Activa stands in the top of the list for the 8th consecutive month in August 2016. The company sold 2,80,790 units last month as per the reports from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). While the Activa has preserved its first position, the second position was occupied by Hero MotoCorp’s Splendor with 2,29,061 units.
The Hero HF Deluxe sold 1,27,752 units in the month of August 2016, which made it the third most sold 2-wheeler in India. The company has strengthened its leadership in the 100-110cc motorcycle category with the latest launch of Splendor iSmart 110. The Hero Passion had lost out on a lot of sales in the earlier months but now sales have seen a steady climb again.
The TVS XL Super is the only moped to be featured in the list, with sales increasing to 75,435 units, thus acquiring the 5th position. Hero Glamour has been the best selling motorcycle in 125cc category for 7th consecutive month, the spot was dominated by Honda CB Shine earlier. The Hero Glamour saw a slight dip in sales though it is still at 6th position.
The TVS Jupiter stood at the 8th position while Bajaj Auto has been taking the 9th and 10th spot completing the list with its Pulsar and CT respectively.
