The next gen Hero Achiever 150 has been launched with updated styling and a new engine with i3S tech. It also gets AHO and the option of a front disc brake.
Hero MotoCorp has launched the next gen Achiever 150 which gets an all new engine. The motorcycle is completely developed by Hero and thus the company won’t have to pay royalty to Honda any more. Powering the 2017 Hero Achiever is a 149.1cc TOD (Torque On Demand) single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC engine that outputs 13.4 BHP of power (13.6 PS) at 8000 RPM and 12.8 Nm of torque at 5000 RPM, matched to a 5-speed gearbox.
This new Hero engine is BS-IV compliant and gives the Achiever 150 a 0-60 km/hr time of 5 seconds. The motorcycle features i3S (Idle stop-start system), tubeless tyres, maintenance free battery, side stand indicator and viscous air filter. The new Hero Achiever also gets Automatic Headlamps On (AHO) to comply with the upcoming safety norms. The next gen Achiever 150 is priced at Rs. 61,800/- for the 130 mm drum variant while the disc variant (240 mm front) is priced at a mere Rs. 1000/- premium at Rs. 62,800/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Hero has updated the design of the Achiever 150 which now gets a new headlight, winkers, bulging fender and cowl, large visor, enlarged fuel tank (13-litres) with flush type lid, new graphics, new muffler cover and updated tail light. The motorcycle is available in three colours – red, grey and black.
The next gen Hero Achiever 150 uses a tubular diamond frame and weighs 139 kgs. It uses telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The front and rear wheels use 80/100/18 tyres. This motorcycle competes with the Bajaj V15 and Honda Unicorn 150.
Hero just surpassed 70 million units cumulative production and to celebrate the same, it has launched the limited edition Achiever 150 with only 70 units to be sold. This also coincides with India’s 70th year of independence. The limited edition bike is finished in the colour of patriotism.
