The 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 facelift has been revealed for international markets and gets no mechanical changes. The Indian model is expected to get improved fuel efficiency.
The Hyundai Grand i10 was launched in 2013 and has become the top selling car for the Korean brand in India with 11,961 units sold last month. The stellar sales of the Grand i10 come as a surprise considering the increasing competition in the hatchback segment. Hyundai recently started testing the mid-life facelift of the vehicle on Indian roads and it was spotted with heavy camouflage.
Hyundai has released pictures of the i10 facelift for international markets. The second generation i10 is called Grand i10 in India and has minor differences from the international model, such as a bigger cabin for improved rear seat comfort. The updated model will make its public debut at the upcoming 2016 Paris Motor Show in October.
While changes aren’t extensive, the Hyundai Grand i10 facelift looks fresh thanks to the updated front and rear. The front grille is wider and round LED daytime running lights are placed in an unconventional place, quite close to the headlights (there are fog lamps too). At the rear, the car gets an updated bumper with reflectors and a black inlay. The side remains the same with the alloy wheel design being carried over on the 14-inch tyres.
The interior of the 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 has been updated with a 7.0-inch touch-screen infotainment system that gets navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Globally, the new model gets collision warning system, lane departure warning system and a 7-year subscription to Hyundai’s live traffic monitoring system.
No updates have been made to the powertrains globally but Hyundai is expected to tweak the engines in India for increased mileage. The launch of the facelifted Grand i10 is expected later this year.
