The KTM Duke 125 was recently spotted testing just months ahead of its official launch. The 2017 models of KTM Duke 200, 390 are set to become more muscular as they share the same bodywork as the Duke 125.
The iconic Duke has marched its way into Indian homes with all its swag and oomph oozing out of its naked styling, rugged performance and of course, the growling noise. Since its foray into the Indian market in 2011, the Austrian manufacturer hasn’t meddled that big with the winning formula and continues to ride on the niche that KTM has carved for itself.
The current KTM Indian lineup includes the Duke 200, Duke 390, RC 200 and RC 390. Recently, their little sibling, the 2017 KTM Duke 125 was spotted testing ahead of its official launch next year. The bike was spotted alongside an array of fighters that included the 800cc parallel-twin Duke and also the Husqvarnas.
What KTM has done smartly with the second generation single-cylinder Duke models is, that they have given it a similar appearance to the 1290 Super Duke R only with a lighter engine. It boasts of hefty triangular headlights and new angular bodywork, with cowls on both sides of the tank too. The prominent trellis frame and mudguard remain untouched though.
As the Duke 200 and Duke 390 share the same bodywork with the Duke 125, the 2017 versions of the hit models will become a bit more beefy. A fancy new dash mounted on the handlebar could make its way into the new Duke as well. As for the constants, the Duke 125 will still be powered by the 15 HP 125cc single-cylinder engine and will have Bosch ABS standard. Similarly the upcoming 200 and 390 models are likely to retain their engines with improved refinement.
