As per the import data on Zauba, Volvo and Toyota have imported two of their cars for certification purposes. Volvo has imported two of their V40s. On the other hand, Toyota has imported their Lexus LX450d SUV. This comes one month after the import of their ES 300h hybrid sedan. The imported LX450d competes against the Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Sport in the international markets. The car comes with a 4.5-litre diesel engine which outputs 268 HP of power and 650 Nm of torque. Toyota has been contemplating the introduction of the Lexus brand in India for a while now. With the Indian customer now growing fonder with brands like Mercedes, Jaguar etc., this might prove to be the perfect time for Lexus to make its debut.
Volvo meanwhile, has imported two units of its V40 hatchback. The updated hatch gets new headlamp design with T shape LED DRLs inspired by the new Volvo XC90. There are not many changes inside the cabin and the equipment levels remain unchanged.
