The Maruti Suzuki Baleno and S-Cross get grey coloured alloy wheels on the top variants, replacing the silver-coloured alloy wheels, giving the vehicles a sportier look.
The silent upgradation on the alloy wheel colour of the Baleno and S-Cross is a good step as it improves the appearance of the crossover as well as the hatchback, thus making it a style statement. The changes are limited only to the alloy wheel colour and there are no price modifications. It is still not confirmed that whether it is a dealer-level modification or has been officially rolled out by the company.
The S-Cross crossover rides on 205/60/16 front and rear tyres all throughout the range and the Baleno is shod on 185/65/15 front and rear tyres with steel rims while the top-end variants have 195/55/16 front and rear tyres with alloy wheels. This adds up to the design language and also brings a sporty stance on the premium crossover and hatchback.
With over one lakh bookings of the Maruti Baleno in just four months of its launch, India’s largest car maker is still struggling to meet the scaling demand, despite the full fledged production. The car is powered by the 1.2-litre K-series VVT petrol engine and the 1.3-litre, turbocharged, Multijet DDiS diesel engine. The petrol variant is available in both 5-speed manual and CVT automatic transmission options.
On the other hand, the S-Cross comes with a 1.6-litre DDiS 320 diesel, tuned to pump out 118 BHP and 320 Nm and a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine producing 89 BHP power and 200 Nm torque. The 1.3-litre variant comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the 1.6-litre variant is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. Since the drastic price reduction, there is a decent growth in sales of Maruti’s flagship car.
